1955 Oldsmobile Rocket 88

The 88 was built by Oldsmobile from 1949-1999. From 1950 through 1974 the 88 was the divisions most profitable line and in the early years was one of the best performing automobiles, thanks to its size, light weight and advancements of the overhead valve V8 engine. The second generation was only built for two years (54-56) and were completely re-styled from the previous generation with the 55 model years already getting a big facelift from the previous year. In addition the 324 Rocket V8 was putting out close to 200 HP. This is one incredible unmolested example with one re-paint and new carpets at some point in its life. The paint still shows well with some wear visible in spots. The car did have a full mechanical restoration in 2004 with the engine, transmission and power assist brakes being fully gone through with receipts and paperwork. The car has had a recent service with new tires. The car has had excellent long term care and storage with several car shows under its belt. The car starts, runs and drives like a dream with power steering and brakes, no leaks or smoke and everything in working order. The chrome is pretty superb for being original, the interior has some slight wear and tear on the front seat but that is to be expected. There is no rust or rot that we can find anywhere. This is a superb example of a great driver quality car with the mechanicals being at nearly 100% and the cosmetics being what they are. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions.
