1951 MG TD

The TD by MG was built from 1950 through 1953, although there is said to be a couple TD's that were made in 1949. Although similar to the TC, the TD at the time was said to be strikingly different and more comfortable which to some enthusiasts did not sit well. They did not like the larger car which in todays standards are absolutely tiny.. In addition they offered “All Weather Protections” which was good for the day was basically just canvas side curtains that had to be removed from the rear compartment area and fastened in. This particular really nice example we are offering has a really nice and new Hartz-Cloth convertible top along with new tonneau cover. The side curtains are also complete. This seems to be a very tidy example with good paint, nice interior and mechanics seem to be dialed in really nicely. Lights and gauges are also in working order. It is hard to say when the car was restored as the current owner purchased the TD this way but since his ownership has had excellent care and storage. We have had several TD's over the years and either they are absolute show stoppers or cars that need a restoration. I would consider this car a really good driver that you could still show if wanted. This TD starts, runs, shifts very nicely has good brakes and tires. No real rattles or shakes and does not smoke or leak.
