The SVT Lightning is a performance version of the Ford F-150 released by Ford's Special Vehicle Team. This muscular truck was introduced in 1993 primarily as an effort to enhance the sporty, personal use image of the Ford F-Series pickup. This was achieved by powering the vehicle with a 5.8 liter V8 producing 240hp and 340 ft lbs of torque and upgrading the suspension to improve the handling.
