1957 Porsche Speedster

Vintage Speedster out of California has become the industry standard for replica Speedsters, with their reliability, affordability and fit and finish. We have seen these rise over the past few years and with the inexpensive entry point, the time may never be better to get one of these exciting rag tops.

The yellow jacket offered here is not your ordinary replica Speedster. This car has all the great finishing touches that you expect from Vintage, but the previous owner wanted more power out of the vehicle. So, he ordered and had installed a 2027cc SCAT motor just 150 miles ago. With almost 150HP, this thing flies and sounds awesome. We have had several of these, but nothing like this one. With the turn of the key you can feel it come alive and as soon as you shift the short throw shifter into gear and feather the throttle, it lights up!

Here is the extensive history of things that have been done during the engine rebuild and some of the information. All aspects of the engine and exhaust are new with 90.5mm bore size which gives it thicker cylinder walls allowing less distortion and best for heat dissipation. It has great mid-range torque and improved cooling efficiency, and was recommended by SCAT for making power without decreasing reliability as a daily driver. 78.8 x 90.5 mm pistons, Compression ratio is approximately 8.5:1, Cylinder head chamber volume is approximately 58cc. C35 camshaft: 0.381 lift, 285 Adv Dur, 246 @ 0.050 Duration. Counterweighted Crankshaft, 12.5 lb. Lightweight 8 Dowel Pin Flywheel, SCAT Lube-a-lobe lifters, Full flow remote oil filter and automatic cooling fan. Kennedy 200mm, Stage 2, 2100lb clutch. Pertronix Igniter II ignition - Distributor, Coil, 7mm wires. New Dual Decade 44mm carburetors. 4 speed short throw shifter. Ceramic coated heater boxes and muffler - which improves cooling. All new - and correct - engine cooling tins. Motor has been built to maximize cooling to promote longevity.

Car is optioned in the rare Sunshine Yellow exterior with all proper badging and accents. Has the wider chrome wheels with colored Porsche crest centered. Wire Headlight guards give the car a nice look and are complimented with the large rally lights to give you even better visibility. Car comes with full Tonneau cover and snaps easily into place. As well you will receive the full convertible top with boot cover and side window inserts. The interior is in remarkable shape and has some nice upgrades that include a stereo with CD and hideaway Pioneer speakers. Wood steering wheel and proper accents are apparent everywhere you look. Additional VDO gauges mounted nicely on driver side pillar include; oil pressure, oil temperature and cylinder head temperature. Also included is a parade style rear seat and cocoa front floor mats.

Once again, this is not your typical replica and is one that deserves to be considered and at the top of your list. Service documentation, additional parts and manual come with the vehicle along with wheel jack. Car runs and drives in remarkable fashion and will not disappoint.
