1973 Mercedes-Benz 220 D

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer yet another wonderful, highly original, example of an early 70's Mercedes sedan. This one here is a 1973 220 Diesel and is in very good original condition with only 108,735 original miles, which is very low for a diesel. The exterior has only minor blemishes and the interior presents itself as close to new as an original interior 41 year old car can. The white over red color combo is blends wonderfully together and definitely stands out among other classic Mercedes sedans.

The car features the bulletproof 2.2L Inline 4 cylinder diesel matted to an automatic transmission. It also features power steering, power brakes with front discs, A/C (not hooked up), and heat. All of the gauges work and everything works except for the A/C currently. This 3-owner car was sold new in Ohio and was purchased by the 2nd owner at Roger Budd Chevrolet Mercedes-Benz in Lima, OH in 1976 and cared for it for the next 38 years until it was purchased by a friend and the current owner just a few months ago. The car comes with all of the original books, owner's manual, warranty card, service manuals, Becker radio manual and wiring diagram, recent $3,500 service and maintenance at well-known Mercedes facility; Boro's Inc. in Troy, MI. The values on these early 70's Mercedes diesels are increasing with prices doubling since 2007 for clean, lower mileage, and well documented example such as this one. Don't miss out!
