In 1945, when Henry J. Kaiser partnered with auto executive Joe Frazer they were looking to satisfy the consumer's post war demand for cars. What they didn't realize is that they would help create a new era of inexpensive yet reliable automobiles. The Henry J was introduced at a Chicago showing in February 1950 but not put on sale until September 1950 as a 1951 model. The car was built using government funding from the Reconstruction Finance Corp. which included a stipulation that the car must retail below $1,300; causing the price of the car to be retailed at $1,299. Approximately 115,000 Henry Js were produced for 1951 and 1954 model years and allowed the choice of either a 68 hp 4 cylinder engine or an 80 hp six cylinder engine.

This street legal, JEB Four Racing Henry J features a 572 cubic inch GM Crate Motor, 4340 Forged Steel Crankshaft, JE Forged Aluminum Pistons with an 11.45 to 1 compression. Adding to the raw power and appeal of this classic drag car is an Edelbrock 2916 Super Victor port matched by Wilson manifolds to AFR 335 cc CNC'D cylinder heads, 3.5 in exhaust with Flowmaster single chamber racing mufflers and a 1090 CFM King Demon Carburetor. Keeping the wheels on the ground with this Henry J is tough due to the amount of power but the included attachable wheelie bars certainly help. This Henry J was run in 2011 turning a ¼ mile time of 9.95 seconds at 138.49 mph, caused by the massive 834 hp and 751 lb foot of torque. This car was restored by the reputable RM Motorsports and truly shows the craftsmanship and skill that they possess. Not only is this drag car a powerhouse but it truly a unique and beautiful Henry J and was featured at the Motor Sports Hall of Fame of America in Novi, MI.

If you are looking for luxury then this is not the place to look, but if you are a true motor head then look no further. This Henry J is a true powerhouse and an opportunity that should not be passed up. The interior features a full roll cage with harnesses for both driver and passenger and full Auto Meter gauges allowing you to monitor every aspect of the car. Every bit of the build is thoroughly documented in 2 binders that include pictures, dyno sheets, and receipts. This car and its documentation is definitely on a “must see it to believe it” basis and we welcome you to come and check out this showcase of power and style rolled into one.
