1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

When Ford introduced the Ford Mustang in 1964 and instant love affair with the American Pony Car was born. The mustang was smaller, lighter, and more nimble that any American manufacturer had produced thus far. This coupled with its fresh design, the Ford Mustang became a must have among the American public.
The 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 offered here is a highly original example that has been harvested from the climate friendly state of Arizona. The has received one older repaint in its original color of Wimbledon White over Red Interior. The car features its 289 V8 engine, automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, bucket seats, AM Radio, fold down rear seat, spare tire, jack, side louvers etc. The car was built in the San Jose Ford factory, purchased new in Phoenix, AZ and remained there until it was recently acquired from its second owner. As a result, the car has been preserved, and remains a very straight forward example of this American icon.
Mechanically, the car is wonderful. The car drives excellent in all driving situations; stop and go or in highway situations. The car has been maintained and can be driven with confidence. Cosmetically, this 289 fastback still shows very nice and remains in good driver quality condition. Much of car including the underside, engine compartment and trunk areas remain original.
The first generation Ford Mustang is perhaps the most iconic American car produced and is recognized around the globe.
