GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this awesome 1965 Ford Mustang GT 350 Shelby Tribute. No expense was spared and no detail over looked in the restoration of this mustang Fastback. The car began life in San Jose as a 289 4 Barrel with an automatic transmission. The car is remained in the desert Southwest for the majority of its life and in 2004, the car was acquired by a Mustang / Shelby enthusiast. The car was a perfect candidate for the Shelby transformation. The car was built to Shelby specs and features a 289 V8 built to K-code specs including a solid lifter cam, correct K-code carb and intake, manual choke, roller rockers, factory air conditioning R-12, 4-speed top loader transmission with correct shifter cane and Hurst linkage, 1965 Buddy Barr correct Ford aluminum valve covers, 3.50 rear end gears, correct bell housing with scatter shield, larger oil pan, correct Ford rear glass, vintage style radio with i-pod pick up, etc. The Shelby tag, 6S842 is from a Red GT 350 that has disappeared since new and has never been seen again. The Tag seems to be riveted, but is adhered to the top of the vehicles original correct VIN.
Other features include: functional GT 350 style side scoops, fiberglass hood with scoop, 2 plus 2 seating, Shelby dash mounted tach, Shelby steering wheel, GT 350 badging, stripe package, Pony interior, 2 + 2 seating, Aluminum Wheels, etc. The car has a binder full of receipts documenting the build of this car.
Today, the car remains in excellent condition up, down and all around. The performance is amazing, a powerful pony car that is also alert and responsive.
