Another round of government restrictions at the end of the 1970's meant that in order to still have muscle the size and weight of the car had to shrink considerably. The Fox body Mustangs became the 3rd generation of the legendary line and ran from 1979 to 1993. These Mustangs popularity carried the historic line through a time when many died off. The Fox Body is not very similar to the large, steel muscle car era ponies, but they are undeniably fun to drive. Many were altered and raced so finding well preserved examples is increasingly more difficult.
This 1989 Ford Mustang GT is a 2-owner pony in great shape. It is powered by the original 5.0L V8 engine paired with the original 5-speed manual transmission (read: a lot of fun). It features a power convertible top, power windows, power front disc brakes, power steering, an aftermarket radio, and updated coils & springs.
