1978 Ford F250

The F250 was the last year of the sixth generation F series truck . The success of the F series had carried on more than three decades at this point and still lives on today. The 1979 model changed the circle headlights to square headlights but the rest of the truck was the same. The 1978 and 1979 models had a single piece insert for the grille unlike all other prior models . In 1979 the F series truck became the bestselling vehicle in the world, this was also the first time that ford motor company introduced the slogan " built ford tough." The F-250 came in Custom, Ranger, Ranger XLT and Ranger Lariat trim choices, with Custom being the base level and Lariat the most luxurious. The crew cab versions were only available in Custom and Ranger XLT trim. The Custom came with vinyl seat upholstery, the Ranger offered knit vinyl, floor covering and color-coordinated trim panels, the Ranger XLT came with cloth-trimmed upholstery, extra insulation and carpeting and the Ranger Lariat provided padded cloth seating, padded headliner, extra insulation and special color options.

This truck underwent a frame off restoration in 2007 and according to the owner the 351M v8 engine was completely rebuilt in 2013. Engine currently has 6,200 miles on it. The transfer case and 4 wheel drive function as they should. Transmission is an automatic C6. The truck is sitting on a 4 inch leaf spring suspension lift with 8 inch lift blocks. The shocks are made by Rancho. Underneath the chassis the rubber meets the road with 35X12.50X16 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires. Other options include, Sunpro super tachometer, aluminum radiator, headers, edlebrock carburetor, chrome power steering pump and chrome alternator and fan. Also has a chrome roll bar in the bed with KC lights.
