Jack Roush took an already fine platform and improved on it in many ways, making a Roush 427R one of the finest balanced Mustangs available. A ROUSH charger was added, and combined with a new intake, intercooler and radiator, air induction system and special Roush ECU tuning, allow the 4.6L V8 to produce 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, considerably higher than the engine normally produced in a mainstream Mustang GT. Other great features of the 427R package included upgraded suspension components, including front and rear struts, shocks and springs, and front and rear anti-sway bars. Rounding out the package are several design upgrades, such as the rear spoiler, front chin splitter, special striping and badging and many other tasteful touches, both inside and out.

The Torch Red 427R presented here is nearly showroom new, top to bottom, inside and out. The Mustang GT Premium used by Roush for this conversion is exceptionally well equipped, with ebony leather upholstery, power driver's seat, power windows, door locks and mirrors, a great Shaker 500 Audio System which includes AM/FM/6CD/MP3 capability, ambient interior lighting and many more creature comforts. Some additional Roush options included are the addictive and intoxicating sounding Roush exhaust system, Light Bar Kit, Vent Pod Gauge Kit, and the 20” Cast Chrome Wheel/Tire package including wheel locks. Rounding out the added items are the short throw shifter with black knob and illuminated side sill plate. The car also features RCI 4 point harnesses for the front seats, but these and the attending mounting bar could easily be removed if someone was more interested in show than go. The car also comes with a car cover, original owner's manual, both factory and Roush window stickers and both original keys with integrated fobs.
