1964 Ford Thunderbird

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1964 Ford Thunderbird 2-Door Hardtop Coupe for purchase. The 1st generation Thunderbird was a success outselling the Corvette. It was a personal luxury car (when there really wasn't such a thing) that was a 2-seat roadster, but Ford felt the sales could be even better. The 2nd generation (starting in 1958) would see the Thunderbird grow to 4-seats and offer a hardtop coupe. While such a dramatic change would have doom written all over it, the sales actually took off and grew at a time when almost all other American vehicles didn't. 1964 brought about another redesign ushering in the 4th generation. Once again, the redesign worked and sales jumped from 63,000 to over 92,000 which was the highest mark to date.

This '64 Thunderbird is a Texas car that was last purchased in 2006 and then brought to Indiana. This is a beautiful example in White with Black vinyl interior. It went through a full frame-off restoration that was finished in 2014. The body was sandblasted and painted. The interior received a new headliner, new carpet with Dynamat sound insulation, and new seats with new foam & covering. It is powered by a correct professionally rebuilt (by Rankin Automotive) 390ci V8 engine and automatic transmission. It also features new Thunderbird AM/FM radio, Quartz clock, new shocks, new belts, new water pump, new hoses, cleaned & sealed gas tank, new 4-barrell carburetor, and much more!
