Jeeps” are an American icon and can trace their history to a call from the military to 135 companies, with WWII impending, to create a 4-wheel drive reconnaissance vehicle. Only two companies responded and a new vehicle segment was born with veterans falling in love with the go anywhere off-roaders. The CJ-7 is the 7th generation of the legendary Jeep produced from 1976-1986. It features a wheelbase 10” longer than the CJ-5 and to help improve handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis was stepped out to allow the road springs and dampers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body.
The 1980 Jeep CJ7 Renegade offered here is a great southern example that comes to us from North Carolina. This Jeep remains in great shape and is ready for immediate fun. It is powered by the rock solid 258 CID inline 6 cylinder engine, optional 4 speed manual transmission and Jeeps legendary 4 wheel drive system. The truck show 96119 miles on the odometer, has received a selective style restoration and remains in great shape. Highlights include: Power steering, power brakes, Renegade trim package, rear seat, integrated roll bar, hard top, rear mounted spare, chrome wheels, stainless steel bumpers, stainless steel grill and stainless hood ties.
