1931 Ford Model A

Henry Ford spent most his first years fighting off the idea of changing the Model T which produced and sold over 15 million models before his son, Edsel, finally convinced him that some new features and comforts were necessary. On May 25th, 1927, Ford announced the shutdown of the plant and production of the Model T and began retooling the entire factory to begin its new and improved version, the Model A. They completed this process in almost 6 months and had cars pumping out quickly which was only possible due to Edsel secretly marshaling the design and sketch team to begin working on the new model prior to Henry ever even approving such a change.

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1931 Ford Model A for purchase. This classic is one that has all the right parts and pieces for a great car, this one just needs a little TLC. The exterior is in fair condition, no major dents or issues with the body. The interior on the other hand is in very good condition. All of the windows function as they should, the dash has held up reasonably well and the rumble seat and interior seats have been maintained well and appear to be free of any large rips or large holes. The exterior features that came originally on the A appear to still in place including the emblems and foot pegs for the rumble seat. The era correct gauges are still in the dash. The engine in the Model A is the always classic and reliable 201 CI Inline-4 with a 3-Speed manual transmission that will keep you cruising down the road on the what appear to be original 19 inch wheels and Super Service 4.75/5.00/19 tires. As mentioned, this Model A needs a little love, the biggest flaws are the roof that needs to be refinished and that it currently needs a new manifold. The owners have provided a nice condition manifold along with the car that just needs to be installed! This 1931 Model A has all the potential to be a beautiful show car or driver after just a bit of work.
