The Beetle is one of the most recognizable cars on the road and with over 6 decades of production the car will remain a very important part of the history of the automobile. Although there were many small changes in the car over the years, the car always stayed very similar in body style and overall setup. In 1979 the last production out of Germany came to an end and from there all further production was done out of the Mexico until 2003.
Here on display is one of the finest Beetle coupes with the rollback roof that we have ever seen. This car was treated to a full restoration with no worries of the price. The term “open checkbook” is the proper term on this restoration. From the underneath, exterior, interior and mechanicals it is very apparent that this restoration was done properly and done to a very high standard. Vehicle was sourced out of California and we have been told that it was a clean and non-rusty vehicle when the restoration started. The vehicle was brought down to bare metal and completely dissembled and put back together with all the right components. The paint is in gorgeous shape and shows throughout the entire car as it highlights some interior features such as the dash, engine bay, wheels, panels and front bonnet. All proper hardware, bright work, trim and accessories are in remarkable shape. The white wall tires are complimented nicely by the painted wheels with the chrome beauty rings. The interior was completed with gorgeous Terracotta leather with white piping. All new carpet kit, door panels, headliner, seals, hardware and gauges are accurate down to the knobs and the AM radio. The functioning roll back roof provides even more rarity to the setup of the car. The front bonnet is very clean and shows off the new gas tank, spare tire, jack and tools. Under the engine lid is a stunning engine compartment that you could eat off of and the engine fires right up and has a nice pep to it with the upgraded 1600cc engine setup. All lights seem to be working right along with the wipers.
For anyone that wants the best for their collection or a show car – you do not have to look any further. This is the one and ready for the next owner to drive, enjoy, and showoff at any competition in the world.
