1929 Mercedes-Benz SSK Replica

While a genuine 1920s Mercedes-Benz SSK might set you back between $15-20mil, this 1929 replica is much more affordable. The original SSK was built between 1928 and 1932 and its full name was “Super Sport Kurz” or “Super Sport Short”. Its excellent performance led it to become one of the best competitive sports cars of its era. The last car designed by Ferdinand Porsche before he went on to form his own company, the SSK was the fastest car of its day. With a massive 7 liter straight-6 supercharged engine, it had a top speed of 120 miles an hour. Fewer than 40 were built and many were raced and crashed. It's estimated that only four or five complete originals still exist.

Our SSK replica is titled as a 1990 replica car and features a 1.6L Chevette 4-cylinder and automatic transmission. The car fires right up and the transmission shifts ok. The fiberglass bodywork is complete and in good shape. A light cream exterior paint with dark brown fenders shows well. A bit of patina on the tops of the fenders but is clean overall. The carmel leather interior is in great shape and shows very nicely as does the wooden dash that is free of cracks. A wooden steering wheel rounds out the interior as does instrumentation that appears to be functioning as it should.

195/65R14 tires are mounted to period looking chrome wire wheels with disc brakes hiding behind the front wheels. The car also features coil spring suspension, full soft top, full tonneau, rear mounted full size spare, and dual horns. With just 10,507 miles, this unique replica has seen little use. Nicely kept, its ready for another owner to show it some love.
