In 1965, the Scout 800 replaced the earlier Scout 80. A few variations were subsequently introduced, ending with the 800B that was sold for just 10 months from August 1970 to March 1971. These trucks were compact and affordable and were just at home on the road as they were towing farm equipment. Durable and easy to work on, they were a good competitor to the Ford Bronco and Jeep CJ.

Finished in International Harvester red with white mirrors and white removable roof, this truck stands out in today's parking lots full of grey blobs. The paint quality is average, but the body is straight and free of rot. Factory steel wheels, grey steel bumpers, and a trailer hitch round out the exterior modifications. The interior is very spartan but features items such as wind up windows, full instrumentation, glovebox, and an aftermarket stereo. The controls are simple and you have a floor shift 3-speed manual, manual engaging transfer case, and a large steering wheel. New seats have been fitted and the dashboard is very clean.

Featuring the 232cid “thriftpower” inline 6, this Scout has more power than usual and is a good driver. This would make a perfect beach or trail cruiser and will stand out from the usual Jeeps!
