1979 Volkswagen Beetle

The beloved Beetle convertible has endured the test of time and millions of these have been produced over the past 60+ years. Peoples Car, Love Bug, Herbie, Slug Bug, Type 1, and many other names have been used to describe or refer to this iconic model throughout the world. The VW Beetle has been a recognizable car no matter where you are and what year the car is, it is always very easy to notice.

In 1979 the VW ceased production of the car to the US market and to celebrate the last year of this car, VW only produced the convertible version for the US dealer network. The Beetle remained true to its roots, but each year the car received some kind of tweak or improvement and in 1979 this car gave the owner the best it could offer.

This specific convertible is in excellent shape and has recently been selectively restored to showcase the car in its best possible way. The car was repainted in 2015. The car was sold new at Meadors, Volkswagen Inc. in Athens, Georgia. The car comes with the original warranty and maintenance booklet and warranty card along with the owner's manual. There are a few receipts from over the years for minor upkeep. The current owner has owned this cute little bug for the last 28 years. The 1600cc engine runs great and the car handles the road as it should. The chrome is in excellent condition and shows very well. The interior and top are also in excellent condition. This example is beautiful in every aspect.
