1990 Lotus Esprit

Introduced in 1976, the Esprit was a sleek, mid engined sports car produced by Lotus. Designed by the famous Italian designer, Giugiaro, the Esprit was an immediate hit and went on to be featured in a number of publicity stunts, the most famous of which was its role as a submarine car driven by James Bond. A number of series and variations of the car were produced and the were options ranging from a 2.0L I4 to a twin turbocharged V8.

It has been with its current owner for two years and was purchased from the president of the USA Lotus owners group who had the car for around 12 years. The car was specially ordered new in Ohio and features Bright Red paint over Dove Grey leather. The exterior is in fabulous shape and the interior is just as clean as it left the factory. The exterior features a rear spoiler, 16in alloy wheels, and a dove grey pinstripe.

This Esprit features a potent 2.2L turbocharged 4 cylinder that is said to produce around 280hp and can propel the car to over 160mph. Its mated to an easy to use 5-speed manual transmission. This car has been extensively cared for over the years and has a new ECU, new battery, new Kumho tires, new Kenwood stereo and speakers, new clutch master and slave cylinder, braided clutch lines, R134 A/C conversion, new timing belt, and serviced headlights. The car comes with lots of documentation such as the owners manuals, and it even has the factory tool kit. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer, more original example.
