1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS clone for your consideration. The Chevelle was a mid-size model that was produced over a few generations starting in 1964. The second generation is arguably the most popular and featured a distinctly sculpted “coke bottle” body with tapered fenders and a rear quarter kick up. A variety of engines were on offer but the most potent and powerful being the 454cid V8 in the SS. The 1972 model year brought a host of changes such as new parking lights, revised grill, and hidden windshield wipers, it was enough to be America's second best-selling car that year.

Finished in Red with twin black racing stripes, this car is in excellent condition. Highlights include Bucket seats, center consoler, power steering, four wheel power disc brakes, factory air conditioning, big block radiator with shroud, tilt sport wheel, factory tach and gauges with a SS dash, TH350 automatic transmission, 10 bolt rear end, 235/70/15 Goodyear Eagle ST tires on 15 inch rally wheels. The car received a 454 v8 crate motor when it was out in California with the odometer reading 90,385 at that time. According to the owner it is rated at 425 hp with 500 ft lb torque. It has an aluminum intake, mild cam, 770 cfm Holley carburetor with idle stop solenoid, high torque mini starter, Hooker black ceramic headers, 2 and ½ inch pipes with Flow Master 50 series mufflers. It has a rebuilt rear end, rebuilt rear axles and bearings, new rear sway bar, rear disk brake kit from Summit, new rear springs, drilled and slotted front rotors, new steering box and heater core. The air conditioning compressor was upgraded to R 134a. It also has a 100 amp alternator, JVC stereo, full size car cover. The car comes with a folder of receipts reflecting this.
