1939 Hudson Series 92 Coupe

Believed to have been purchased from the display at the 1939 New York World's fair, these Hudsons were far ahead of their time when it came to comfort and safety features. The '39 Hudson Series 92 was equipped with independent, coil-sprung front suspension with Auto-Poise Control. This was essentially an anti-roll bar which increased stability and handling through corners. Additionally, Hudson had Airfoam seat cushions, an interior hood release, and a new mechanical shifter coined “Handy-Shift.” This 212ci flathead 6-cylinder Hudson has undergone a thorough restoration and has been kept at various respected car museums for the majority of its life. It began in a New York museum before going back into the care of an individual. The car was once again loaned to a museum in 2014, this time going to Hostleter's Hudson collection in Shipshewana, IN. In 2018 it moved once again to Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI where it lived until being offered for sale here.

This example has a plethora of factory options with the highlights being; fog lights, champion horn, visor, outside rear view mirrors, fresh air option, Hudson gas tank lock, custom radio, and custom deluxe heater. This five window coupe sports a 118-inch wheelbase and presents itself beautifully in an exceptionally clean coat of Hudson Cream paint.
