The Mercedes-Benz SL series started out as the top of the line sports luxury tourer that offered both performance and comfort. Produced from 1971 all the way to 1989, the R107 lived a long and cherished life. The United States was an extremely popular market for the personal luxury coupe and almost ⅔ of all SL's were sold here.
The fuel injected 4.5L V8 features an overhead cam and delivered 230 horsepower paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The suspension is fully independent and 4-wheel disc brakes came standard.
