That was the buzz when Porsche released its latest and greatest version of the 911 in 1989, the Carrera 964. Based with many innovation technologies form the 959, this would be a very important car for Porsche since the world economy was undergoing recession and the company could not rely on its image alone. It was launched as the Carrera 4, indicating all-wheel drive, a decision that surprised many but demonstrated the company's commitment to engineering. The chassis was redesigned overall, coil springs, ABS brakes and power steering made their debut with the 964 as well as a new speed activated rear spoiler preserving the purity of the lines when the Porsche is at rest.

This Carrera 4 was delivered new to the owner / enthusiast on Porsche North America's “Tourist Delivery” program where one would travel to Stuttgart, W. Germany, tour the factory, take delivery of the car and for the next week tour the German Country side their new 911. From there Porsche North America would facilitate the shipping and importation to the owner's residence in the US. Today the car remains in excellent condition as it has been meticulously maintained cosmetically and mechanically. Mechanically the car preforms flawlessly. It features its original 3.6 liter air cooled flat six motor, power is transferred by its 5 speed gearbox and applied via the most advanced all-wheel drive system of its time. Cosmetically it was always kept in a detailed state. The Guards Red paint remains in excellent condition, the near perfect interior shows as new. The car is accident / incident free, boasts a perfect carfax and retains all original factory paint. It comes complete with all original books and manuals, original portfolio, original keys with pouch fob, all original tools, jack, collapsible spare, safety reflector, air compressor, both option tags, and all VIN stickers.
