1955 Porsche 356

There is no doubt that the Porsche 356 is one of the most iconic sports cars of the 50's and 60's and more notably the speedster. We also know that the values on these cars have gone through the roof entering the $200,000 mark in many cases. So it is no wonder that these cars have also become some of the most replicated cars in existence.

Max Hoffman, the primary distributor for Porsche cars to the United States in the beginning asked Porsche to build a 356 that was more attainable to the masses especially here in the States. They did and the Speedster is what they produced. A 356 with no side windows and cheaper top was not that good and really no other amenities, making it much less expensive. These became a big hit, especially the California crowd.

This special car was hand built and is not a kit car. It was for the Sequel for the movie “Behind the Green Door” which was the creation of world famous porn director Aaron Mitchel and quite arguably responsible for putting full-length porn movies on the map and making it a billion dollar a year business. The sons of Aaron wanted to honor their father by making a sequel: “Behind the Green door the Sequel” which was produced in 1986.

It was specialty built for this movie with an expense of over $150,000. Although said to be build on a Porsche chassis, e have no verification of this, however the build quality is tremendous. The drivetrain is a Hi-Performance 1776 CC engine that runs real strong, mated to a close-ratio crisp shifting transmission with a custom-built stainless steel exhaust. It also has exterior air and oil cooling system to keep everything operating as it should.

The custom built interior equipped with original seat cushions, Audio Bahn custom sound with 3,600 watt amplifier and dual 10” base speaker producing 400 watts each.

The exterior of the car was hand built and done very well. The fit and finish down to the custom roll cage, lights etc…are like no other. A set of imported polished Fuchs accent the custom painted exterior very nicely.
