GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Coupe. This Corvette is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to acquire a historic and icon mid-60's Corvette Coupe and have some fun tinkering with it. It is currently finished in non-original Code UU Rally Red, however, its original color is the rare Code XX Goldwood Yellow. The body is in good condition and would look excellent returned to its original color. The interior is correct Code 402 Black Leather. Under the hood is the numbers matching and optional L75 327ci V8 that made 300hp and 360lb.ft. of torque with a 10.5:1 compression ratio. It now sports a fuel injection system from a '63 Corvette so it is a numbers matching L75 327ci but with a non-original fuel injection system. It is matted to a Muncie M20 4-speed manual with a posi-traction rear end.

Here's some statistics:
• 23,562 Corvettes manufactured in 1965
• 8,186 were manufactured as coupes (35% of production)
• 8,358 were manufactured with a L75 327 (35% of production)
• This is sequential production number 6,394 produced for '65

The original build sheet (tank sticker) is not present but stemming from research and going over the car, it is determined that this Vette comes with the following options:
RPO 19437; Coupe, $4,321, 35% of production
RPO XX: Goldwood Yellow, 5% of production
RPO N/A; Genuine Leather Seats, $80.70, 9% of production
RPO A31; Power Windows, $59.20, 16% of production
RPO G81; Posi-traction Rear Axle, $43.05, 85% of production
RPO L75; 327ci 300hp Engine, $53.80, 35% of production
RPO M20; 4-Speed Manual, $188.30, 90% of production
RPO U69; AM/FM Radio, $203.40, 94% of production

This Vette has some rare and desirable options such as the L75 327 engine, power windows, leather seats, and its ultra-rare original Goldwood Yellow color. This car does run and drive and can be enjoyed as is but is definitely deserving of being restored to its original glory as it sported from new a very rare motor/color/interior combination.

The ownership history is known as far back as 1976 as the current owner has owned it since 2003. A friend owned it from 1986-2003 and a friend of the friend owned it from 1976-1986. The odometer is showing 42,059 miles but it is said to have not been working for a number of years. Items that come with the car include: the owner's manual, assembly manual, original jack and tools, the original shifter, and original keys. Don't miss out on this piece of Americana!
