1954 Dodge Royal

In the spring of 1954, a Dodge Royal Convertible was selected as the official pace car of the Indianapolis 500. This was in direct response with the introduction of the new flagship model. The full-size car sported a brand new look courtesy of Chrysler's nw head stylist, Virgil Exner. It could be ordered in many different two-tone colors.

The only engine that was offered for the Dodge Royal was the 150 HP, 241-cid “hemi” Red-Ram V8, up 10HP from the previous year due to some compression tweaking.

The model we are very excited to represent is the much desirable convertible with two-speed “fluid drive” automatic transmission. This particular car was purchased new in North Dakota, later to be imported to Canada where it spent quite a bit of time. It had a frame off restoration in 1993-1994 by The Guild of Automotive Restorers Inc. in Ontario. The car is in still very presentable condition that runs and drives as it should.

This car was originally a Burgandy car, however the Yellow/Black combination was offered that same year. It is a numbers matching engine and body and has been lovingly used since the restoration.
