Jaguar claims this is the last car that company founder Sir William Lyons had contributed to during the development. During development the generation pioneered significant improvements to the way Jaguar designed, built, and assembled cars. The result was a more efficient assembly process, but also a weight saving and a stiffer structure. Greater attention to panel gaps improved the drag factor while also improving the fuel economy while lowering wind noise inside the cabin. This generation is known for the smooth and quiet ride while the trim opulence still delivers the classic hand-made Jaguar feel making many call these the best Jaguar sedan ever built.
