“This is a deuce highboy roadster, code for a 1932 Ford with the fenders tossed but the roadster body still high atop the frame just where ol' Henry put it. It's a traditional form, the archetypal hot rod, the basic unit of post–World War II, Southern California, returning-serviceman car exuberance. A roadster was light, and the rodders made it lighter still by throwing away all the nonessentials. Then they did their homemade best with the available flathead V-8s and looked for opponents on the road or on California's dry lakes.”* - caranddriver.com
This 1932 Ford Roadster offered here is an award winner several times over and was built by the Riddler Award winning team at Mid-American Motorsports! It won the 2012 Detroit Autorama and the Cassie Award at the 2013 Autorama! Everything on this '32 Ford is top of the line, no expense spared. The body is a Downs fiberglass body that has been stretched 2 inches for extra leg room, with a hand formed Auburn dash with classic gauges and a clock, a hand fuel pump with gauge, saddle brown leather, German short weave carpet, a 48 Ford heater made into a glove box, Swan shifter, Limelight steering column, and a beautiful 40 Ford steering wheel. The exterior is painted in a stunning deep blue with coordinating Carson saddle brown style lift off top, over $4,000 in chrome, Dry Lake louvers, side panels with louvers, Firestone Dirt Track ribbed tires on 40 Ford four inch wheels, and the rears are Firestones on 41 Ford wheels, all are pinstriped for that extra appeal! The underside of this 1932 Ford for sale is as nice as the top side and everything is painted, polished, or chrome. The jewel of the underside is the Winners V8 Quick Change rear end with 3.70 gears! Under the hood lies a monster that is ready to propel this hot rod down the street! According to the previous owner, it houses a 1970 Pontiac 455 that has been bored .060 over with Jahns pistons, 10.15:1 compression, Pontiac forged rods, 7/16 bolts, stock depth oil pan with high volume TRW pump, windage tray, topped off with Pontiac 4x heads with screw in studs, 1.5 ratio rockers, 2.11 intake, 1.77 exhaust, stainless steel Ferrea valves, Ram Air III cam, Offenhauser quad manifold with twin Edelbrock 500 carburetors that have been dyed to look like the early Carter AFBs, Moon finned valve covers, Moon breathers, early SD water pump pulleys, early distributor with locked out advance, custom headers with lake pipes, complete exhaust is chromed, frame has Ford X member, and everything is nicely tucked away for a show quality finish.
If you want a 50's style hot rod, look no further! The performance of the vehicle is outstanding, the sound is tremendous and the look is more than words can describe. It's very clear there was many hours and dollars invested in the near immaculate Roadster!
