1940 Ford Deluxe Sedan

Ford Motor Company introduced its De Luxe Ford line in 1938 as a more luxurious option to bridge the gap between its standard model and the luxury options offered through Lincoln. The "Deluxe" name was used occasionally before and after this to specify a higher level trim, but the De Luxe Ford line was differentiated as a separate model within a model with separate styling and pricing through 1940.

This particular Ford has seen its fair share of work but with the upmost attention to keeping this fine ride as original as possible. The current owner informs us of it having an updated engine from a 1939-1947 era Ford which shows to be true with its 24-stud setup, the original transmission and rear end which was rebuilt, believed to have all original fenders and side-steps and a wonderfully done frame-off restoration which had a fantastic black paint from frame to roof. This has all new glass and rubber trim, new master and wheel cylinders, new shoes with radial tires added so it can be enjoyed on the road and a new rear tool pan. Although most of this vehicle shows as original, there were upgrades added to make this a real driver! A 12-volt system including electric ignition was added, aluminum heads with a 4-barrel carburetor and an alternator opposed to the old generators used during this era which ensures the next owner that there will be less maintenance for them along the way! A wonderful example of pre-war design and a must-see. This vehicle is ready to be owned and enjoyed by anyone!
