The 1932 Ford is widely recognized as being the most predominate hot rod and has been the case since the first days of hot rodding in the early 30's. The “Deuce's” popularity is easy to understand and has one of the most recognized nicknames of any model. In 1931, the Model A was the model Henry Ford felt most passionate about and although sales were slipping, Mr. Ford thought this was more caused by those at the dealers and not due to the product. After time, some of his staff was finally able to convince him that the market had shifted and demanded more luxury but the next project hadn't even started and the new market year was coming quick. The Model A production was stopped in the United States and Ford started the first designs for their new model and new engine. Although comfort was the primary reason for redesign, they also focused on increasing the power and refined the ride feel which turned out to be an essential reason for their success. What reached the showrooms was a milestone in a number of ways. It was faster, more comfortable, more refined, a masterpiece of industrial design, and yet still affordable.
Sticking to its roots, this fine example of a 1932 Ford Sedan represents a lot of history and shows as a great example of these highly respected models before they were ever turned into a hot-rod. When walking along the outside you find a great deal of originality. The fenders, body and sheet metal are all believed to be original as we are informed by the current owner and although it has a two-tone paint scheme, much of the paint is believed to be original to the car since its inception! With a few newer items needing replacement, the spoke wheels come from a similar era 1935 model and have radial tires installed with them to make this a driving-quality ride. The mechanical side of this vehicle is equally as impressive as the exterior and many thoughtful upgrades have been performed on this to continue in assisting with the drivability of this Deuce. We are informed from the current owner that the transmission originates from a 1939 Ford but has seen a new clutch installed, the rear end is believed to be original with a 3.54 ratio, a newer but similar year Ford Flathead V8 engine has been installed and appears to be from a 1938-1948 Ford. Continuing with this retro restoration you will find early 40's Ford hydraulic brakes which work on a dime. From here on you find more modern features within this beauty with only the upmost attention to keeping this as unmolested as possible. There are three 1997 carburetors installed on top of the aluminum heads with an electronic ignition system to fire up this legendary engine, a conversion to a 12-volt system has been completed and the flywheel is near new keeping this in line with the goal of finishing this fine ride as more than just a museum piece to look at.
Within the cabin there are signs of original interior with all of the seats, visors, gauges and trim in their correct locations and made with the proper material. The headliner is even showing in great condition and no signs of tears anywhere throughout. The nostalgia of this ride is rich and the documentation that will be included to the next fortunate owner is extensive. There is a binder which includes dozens of receipts of parts, services performed and diagrams of the materials used as well as a couple dozen photos that were taken during the restoration process. The dates show that this vehicle started its revitalization sometime in the mid-90's when it was purchased from Winnipeg, Manitoba and brought to its home state in Saginaw, Michigan. A great find for those looking for a ready car to enjoy through the summer months. With all the proper documentation, the wonderful history, it is our pleasure to offer this vehicle for your consideration.
