The Corvette launched its 2nd generation with the birth of the Stingray with a complete redesign barely resembling its predecessors. The Stingray was lighter, had independent suspension, and was aerodynamically tested. The only American cars that could produce similar speed were large, heavy Super Stock optioned Mopars and Super Duty Pontiacs. For the first time, the United States had mass produced a true all-around sports car.
This '65 Corvette Coupe Stingray is offered for sale for the first time since 1988. It comes out of a private collection in Michigan and was originally a California car. It's a highly stock example powered by the 327ci V8 engine and rarely seen 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. This car features new seats, new carpet, and new door panels are available to be part of the purchase. This is a great driving car that can be an awesome collectible cruiser in its current condition, or quickly be brought up to show condition.
