1979 Volkswagen Beetle

As the most recognizable car in the world, this auto needs no introduction. They have been used for everything from Police cars to Taxis to competition cars for the likes of rally racers in the Baja. There has been about 1.5 Million Beetles produced and even with that staggering number these cars have gained a major cult following as well as becoming very collectible for a multitude of reasons. In 1979, Volkswagen ceased production of the car to the US market and to celebrate the last year of this car, Volkswagen only produced the convertible version for the US dealer network. The Beetle remained true to its roots, but each year the car received some kind of tweak or improvement and by the time the 1979 model was built, this car was giving its owner the best it had ever offered.

The originality starts from the outside and goes all the way to its flat 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission believed to be the originals to the body which shows no signs of wear or tear and appears to be all original panels. Many documents are included to this exquisite example which gives us a good look at the history from its first owner to its current and the receipts for work performed to bring this vehicle back to show condition are vast. Included but not limited to the following upgrades, this model has received a new set of correct tires, the 165R15 BFG ¾ WW with its original wheels that have been blasted and powder coated, the rubber trim, seals and molding have all been replaced around the smooth functioning convertible top, the engine has received a full tune up, the valves have been adjusted and refreshed, new manifold and muffler exhaust gaskets have been completed recently, new OEM brake master cylinder had to be and was done to ensure reliability, complete replacement to the rear wheel cylinders and hoses, the entire brake system was updated except for its original drums which were turned.
