1973 Mercedes-Benz 220 D

The big W115 Mercedes sedans of the late 60's and early 70's were the classic lines of the nameplate. Big, Bold and very reliable to the masses that they were intended to be sold to. The diesel versions were even more unique when it was matted to the 4 speed manual transmission. With reliability and gas mileage a top priority the diesel version accomplished both those tasks along with providing a safe and good looking option for the consumer.

This very clean and very original vehicle looks and drives incredibly well. The stunning Mercedes quality and looks do not disappoint in this big body vehicle. The yellow paint still has great shine and the proper patina that you would expect on a vehicle like this. Interior looks to be all original with proper carpets, leather seats, electronics and factory stereo that works well. The vintage manual sunroof works with ease and the seals hold very well for wind and moisture. All the lights are working and this car had the optional A/C feature. The doors shut with the thud that all early Mercedes sounded like as if you were closing up the bank vault. The dash is crack free and does have a nice dash cover to protect it from the sun and heat.

Tires and proper wheel covers are in great shape and the vehicle comes with two keys, owner's manual, tool kit and the spare wheel/tire in the trunk. This is truly a remarkable time capsule that could not be duplicated or replicated at this price. The market has remained and seems to grow with these classic older diesels. This is a fantastic vehicle for a beginner driver, an avid Mercedes fan or the classic collector that wants a very clean and proper example of the Mercedes nameplate.
