1973 Triumph TR6

Triumphs TR6 was produced from 1968 to 1976 and featured a design contracted from Karmann. The cues allowed for the TR6 to sport squared front and back ends, which were referred to as the Kamm tail, which was very common in the 70's. Though most of the bodywork for the TR6 is the same as the TR5, the squaring off of the front and rear fascia's made all of the difference for the car. The TR6 sold well in America, offering the authentic British Roadster experience to many happy owners during the 8-year production run. Almost 90% of those made were exported, fueled largely by strong US sales.

Straight out of the great State of Texas, GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this Pimento Red, 1973 Triumph TR 6. This TR6 has had the benefit of residing in a climate friendly area and responsible ownership. As a result, this 1973 TR6 has been shielded from the elements and retains an original and excellent core structure. The original frame, floors and rockers remain unrestored and excellent. In the late 1990's the vehicle fell into the hands of prominent car collector Don Davis where the car went through a full mechanical restoration. Over 7000 dollars in parts (too many to list) were applied to this TR6 during the mechanical rebuild and records indicate that no corners were cut. Since, the car has been driven and enjoyed by 2 additional enthusiast owners both who resided in Texas until our recent acquisition. The car is powered by its 2.5 liter inline 6 cylinder engine fed by dual Weber Down Draft Carbs and Intake, 4 speed manual transmission and rear wheel drive. Mechanically, the performance of this car is excellent in all aspects featuring excellent acceleration, tight and responsive handling, and excellent braking. Cosmetically, the older repaint still shows very nice, the interior is tidy, motor compartment is sharp and the dry original pans, frame and rockers are surely the highlight of this TR. Other highlights include: new convertible top, full tonneau, luggage rack, very nice stainless trim, refurbished interior, Decals, a large file of receipts and services, parts catalogs, shop manual, spare, and a few extra parts.

The Triumph TR6 is beginning to makes its move in the collector car arena and values are trending upwards. With a thriving TR6 community and strong parts availability, the TR6 is a sound choice when looking for an investment grade vehicle that can be maintained and nurtured with relative ease.
