1967 Porsche 912

Porsche used to cater to the general public when they first started production of their vehicles and they wanted to have a car that would be affordable to the masses – Enter the 912, this was a entry level Porsche that was the exact makeup of the coveted 911 without the 6cyl, which meant a lower MSRP for the customer at the dealership. The 911 market was hot and with the addition of the 912 this gave Porsche a secondary car to sell to the nonwhite collar executive.

This pristine one owner family Porsche offered here is the first time it has been put into the general market. Bought new in May of 1967 out of Vern Hagestad Motor Company in Denver Colorado where it had been serviced routinely for the next 20+years. With proper maintenance and a loving family this 912 had received the dedication that any collector would hope for over its life span. In the fall of 1982 the car was sold to the nephew of the original owner in Anchorage Alaska where it was cared for and enjoyed with the same dedication and appreciation as the original buyer. Routine service and attention to detail was the main focal point as he did not want to disappoint his uncle and family. The car remained in his custody till we purchased the car a few months ago. Prior to our purchase the brakes, starter, battery, front bearings, and new tires were fixed or replaced.

This 912 is in remarkable condition both inside and out and a true testament to what a show piece of a Porsche should be like. The paint is in remarkable condition with its prior respray that shows incredibly well done in its original factory color. Trim pieces and bright work is spot on and the moldings and seals are in remarkable condition. Inside you will find a brand new carpet kit with period correct seats, seatbelts and headliner. Gauges are functional and the car drives and engages in all gears with ease. This 912 runs strong in every aspect, bombing thru all 5 gears with ease and clutch function properly. It is hard to tell its only a 4cy as you drive this piece of automotive history. The engine is a number matching engine verified by Porsche North America.
