1971 Plymouth Road Runner

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 Plymouth Road Runner Clone for purchase. Perhaps no other car defined Mopar Muscle than the Plymouth Road Runner. Plymouth's “dare to be different” attitude was exemplified with the road runner as in 1968 the paid 50, 000 dollars to Warner Brothers to use the name and likeness of their iconic Road Runner cartoon character and they spent thousands on the development of the cars signature “beep beep” horn. The design and promotional aspect was fun and fresh, however the power and performance of these cars were taken very seriously during development as the muscle car wars raged on.

1971 brought the 2nd generation of the Road Runner. the coupe bodywork was completely changed to a more rounded "fuselage" design in keeping with then-current Chrysler styling trends, including a steeply raked windshield, hidden cowl, and deeply inset grille and headlights. In a departure from previous thinking, the B-Body two-door bodies shared little if any sheet metal, glass, or trim with the four-door bodies. The convertible was canceled. The interiors could be ordered with 6-way power leather seats, thick deep-pile carpeting, and additional sound-proofing was installed. The Road Runner had evolved, but how fast and fun these muscle car legends can be is nearly unmatched with timeless style to boot.

This stunning '71 Roadrunner Clone is the result of a full frame-off restoration. It's powered by a rebuilt 440ci V8 engine and automatic transmission. It also features an aftermarket cam shaft, high compression headers, leather interior, Edelbrock intake, dual exhaust, power front disc brakes, new wiring harness, all the gauges work, and much more!
