The Porsche 928 was a luxurious and powerful grand touring car produced from 1979-1995 and was originally intended to replace the 911. However enthusiasts demanded the 911 stay and the 928 gained more luxury and power while the 911 went towards more performance. The 928 was a great blend of refinement, comfort and equipment compared to the 911. With the space of a front engine design and the power of a V8, the 928 was better suited for the American market.

This 1982 928 is now for sale and features a 4.5L V8 engine that produced 240hp when new and is mated to a 3 speed automatic transmission. The body of this car is average, it is straight and free of dents and the paint work is decent. There is what appears to rhino liner on the sills to help prevent rust. The car is equipped with power seats, power windows and power sunroof that is functional. The car is also fitted with the factory stereo and climate control. The interior features dark brown leather seats that are very comfortable but show some wear. A few trim pieces are missing on the interior.

The 4.5L V8 is a highpoint of the car and the engine starts up quickly and runs well. It revs and pulls strong and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. A recent $1,600 service job fixed some of the electrical problems as well as a refresh of all the cooling systems and brakes. The car runs and drives well and has been owned by the same owner since 1985. A great solid car that deserves a full restoration!
