The Scout was a compact off road utility vehicle produced by International Harvester from 1961 to 1980, with a second generation introduced in 1971. They were produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was a competitor to Jeep, Ford, and GM compact SUVs. They were available with a wide variety of engines and body styles, including soft tops, pickups, and hardtops. The Scout II built on the success of the earlier model but featured more creature comforts in addition to buffed up mechanicals.

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this unique and very rare 1977 Midas Edition Scout II for your consideration. Produced from just 1977 to 1980, the Midas Edition was built by Midas Van Conversions in Elkhart, Indiana and production numbers were very low. Billed as a “luxury” option, the Midas Scouts feature a number of high end options that set them apart. In addition to the unique paint and funky graphics, the interior was particularly special. Swiveling front cloth bucket seats as well as rear bucket seats add a unique touch, as does the shag carpet, color keyed interior, color keyed door panels, and headliner trim. In addition, this vehicle is also equipped with factory A/C, wood print dash trim, original radio, and heater. The exterior is finished in Buckskin and is beautiful shape, with a straight body free of dents or dings. The exterior features 15in factory wheels with excellent tires, fog lights, white factory hardtop and roof rack. The chrome trim is in excellent trim and the hardtop even features a full length tailgate. The interior is excellent and highly original, probably one of the nicest examples we have seen. Everything looks like it has been very well cared for and appears to be fully functioning. Compared to the usual spartan Scouts, this is a very comfortable place to be.

Featuring the traditional International 345cid V8, this Scout also has a desirable automatic transmission and a manually engaging 4WD system with locking hubs. The truck features power steering and is very easy to drive and goes down the road very well. This is one of the nicest Scouts we've had the pleasure of bringing to the market, and the rarity of the Midas trim means that this Scout will only continue to appreciate as time goes on!
