GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this superbly restored 1960 Austin Healey 3000 MK1 BT7 for consideration. The Healy Hundred made its debut and the Earls Court Motor Show. The car design was a combined effort between builder Donald Healey and body designer Gerry Coker. An overhead valve Austin A90 4-Cylinder engine was chosen as its power plant. At the show, the car immediately caught the attention of Austin's Leonard Lord and a deal was quickly in place for its production by Austin. The car, which became known as the Austin-Healey 100, was succeeded by the six-cylinder 100-6 in 1956. In 1959 the car evolved again with a larger engine and front disc brakes. The resulting, highly developed Austin-Healey 3000 was an immediate success, both on and off the track.

The car offered here is highly restored in signature Healey Blue over Blue interior. The car is powered by its spirited 3.0 liter inline six cylinder engine fed by dual SU carbs. The power is transferred by its 4 speed with overdrive and applied by the rear wheels. Highlights include: Egg crate style grill, original banjo steering wheels, bent shifter, bucket seats, chrome wire wheels, original Smiths gauges, Smiths heater, side curtains and soft top. The car presents its self excellent in all areas as a complete nut and bolt restoration was executed with high attention to detail right down to the brush painted fan shroud. The car features beautiful paint, excellent panel fit, a fully restored underside, a to die for interior and a highly detailed engine bay.

Mechanically, the car is dialed in. First, there is the all-important signature exhaust note played by its stainless steel dual exhaust. The car pulls strong in every gear, shifts smoothly and sings through the gears. The rebuilt suspension is tight and gives great driver feedback, the brakes stop straight and true and the overdrive engages flawlessly.

The early Austin Healey's are fantastic cars to drive and deliver the epitome of British Open Car Motoring. They are exciting cars to own and drive and will remain proven investments. The 3000 MK1 here comes complete with wire spare, owners handbook, side curtains, and full size spare. A great automotive investment at the price offered here.
