Ford released its new ORV, the Ford Bronco in 1966. The design was simple, the mechanicals were reliable, and the capabilities were ahead of its time. Almost from the beginning, visionary off road enthusiast began modifying the Bronco's for many beach, dune and rugged off road uses. The removable hard top, bullet proof mechanicals, and boxy platform served as an excellent base for off road builders, mechanics and fabricators.
The off road enthusiast offered here carries on the tradition of off road modification. It does not take long to realize that countless hours of thought, design and engineering went in to this off road behemoth. The car is powered by a ford 351 that has been bored and stroked to 393 cubic inches, 9.7:1 compression. The engine is fed by 93 mustang fuel injection system utilizing a trick flow intake. The entire engine has been balanced and blue printed. The C4 Automatic transmission, fitted with a 2800 stall converter, the rear end is a Detroit Locker and the front features a true track locking differential. 4 Wheel disc brakes ensure excellent and predictable braking and the rear axle has a triangulated traction bar.
Other features include 2” body lift as well as a 6 inch suspension lift, gas shocks, 15 inch American Racing wheels mounted with newer, meaty Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires, Coil over front suspension, Dual Fuel Tanks, Full Roll Cage, B&M Ratchet Pro Shifter, Pro Comp Guages, Autometer Tach, Horse Shoe Step Bars, Grant GT Steering Wheel, Diamond plate accents and Rhino lined floors. Documentation includes a large folder documenting the build and restoration of this Bronco.
The Ford Bronco has become an icon in American automotive history and to this day remain very usable vehicles. The Bronco here, although heavily modified, offers no disappointments in performance and shear stage presence. A value at this price.
