General Motors was having good success in the market in 1965, however, the majority of their sales were coming from the Chevrolet Division which totaled almost half of them. The full-sized Chevrolet, consisting of the Biscayne, Bel Air and Impala were over 60% of their sales and with a stronghold on the market which was estimated to total about 15% of all new vehicles on the road in the USA at that time. With this much popularity, there were many survivors and certainly a lot of nostalgia for those who had the luck to own and drive one of these classic rides. To this day many of those full-size models are surviving because of this and we wouldn't have it any other way. The 1966 Bel Air, in particular, had some amazing options and engines available for it and since receiving a nice face lift that year, they may be even more so popular for the 60's era Chevys which came in two-door sedans, four-door sedans and a four-door wagon.

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this beautifully original example of the 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air for your consideration. This two-door example comes with a great deal of work completed including refreshed powertrain which has rebuilt heads, a new intake and carb setup, ready to run. With a more powerful option than what was available from the factory back in the day, this 454 V8 is mated to a smooth shifting Muncie M-20 manual transmission giving it the ultimate driving experience. The exterior is in a great looking state featuring a factory color on its clean body, the body-color wheels and chrome caps are in great shape as well which appear to be original to the car and with all the sharp lines you come to expect from this era vehicle. The interior is just as well as the exterior if not better with a fresh material spread throughout in tan which duplicates the original pattern and look, the dash is in excellent and original shape hosting a clock, AM radio and not much else, the glovebox and trunk even appear to have some of the original stickers and notices from when it first rolled off the line! This is a very clean example with little to no sign of deterioration and with most of its nostalgia in place but with a modern, more enjoyable drivetrain, this is a great find for both young and old. Call or email us today for more information on this excellent example of a classic ride.
