1938 Packard Super 8 Formal Sedan

There may have never been a more dazzling time to design and build cars than before WWII started. Some of the finest coach work performed and presented at this time. Packard, Duesenberg, Cord, Bugatti, and Pierce Arrow were just a sampling of the masterpieces that were coming out of factories. These fine automobiles continue to amaze anyone that sees them as they were truly works of art.

We are super pleased to bring this 1938 Packard Super Eight Formal Sedan to market for just the 5th time after being bought new in Pittsburgh. This car is stunning and simply a gorgeous car to witness. From the massive body lines and flowing fenders to the vast cabin this is one to bestow upon. Chrome work is in great shape and the interior begs you to be in the back seat with legroom any NBA player would be happy with. The straight Eight engine fires up with ease and engages with the 3spd manual transmission to provide highway cruising speeds. Wood trim, steering wheel, gauges and overall functionality is very impressive and it was obvious that the previous owners spent a lot of time and energy to get this car back to its glory.

This vehicle was sold new out of Pittsburgh PA and from the large file that comes with this vehicle it remained in Pennsylvania till the mid to early 1990's before being sold to the Chairman of Holland America Wafer Company in Michigan. The two previous owners spent plenty of time and money to restore this Packard back to its originality. There are several large files of documentation, receipts, letter correspondence, previous owner history and journals of this car's journey the past 85 years.

This is a showpiece, a collectible, a gift from the past and one that should be preserved and cherished by the next owner. Driving it and showing it off would provide so many awesome opportunities for the spectators that get to see this car in its natural habitat cruising down the roads of America. There were only 48 of these built and it is believed that only 3 remain in existence and operable.
