1958 GAZ 46

This GAZ 46, Army designation MAV is a Soviet-made light four-wheel drive amphibious military vehicle that entered service in the 1950's. They were produced from 1954 through 1958 and would go on to be used by much of the Easter European military. They were extremely agile both in and out of water being able to traverse rivers and then climb very steep banks to enter and exit the waterways. The engine is coupled to a manual gear box and there is a screw propeller for in the water propulsions, driven by power take off and a proper rudder that provides good maneuverability. I have personally driven this and it actually is not that bad to drive down the road. Like the Amphicar, its probably not the best car and not the best boat, but If I were to guess, I would much rather take the GAZ. This particular unit comes out of a very distinguished military collection and has been fully restored to stock condition. It starts, runs and does what its supposed to do. Also, chances are that if you are looking for one of these, then you know a hell of a lot more than I do about them.
